Reddit Users by Country: What the Numbers Actually Measure
Compare Reddit’s September 2026 country traffic shares, distinguish visits from active users, and prepare a clearly sourced public spreadsheet.

The United States leads the September 2026 reddit.com website traffic ranking, followed by India and Canada in Semrush’s published country table. But these figures measure visits—not the number of Reddit users living in each country. Source: Semrush.
If you’re preparing a “Reddit users by country” spreadsheet, keep website traffic and active-user metrics separate. The table below provides a usable country comparison; the official figures that follow show what Reddit itself reports about its audience.
Country ranking: website traffic, September 2026
These are the five countries displayed in Semrush’s public reddit.com overview, with all devices selected. Visits are shown in millions for consistent spreadsheet units.
| Rank | Country | Share of website visits | Estimated visits, millions |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | United States | 49.10% | 2,370 |
| 2 | India | 4.08% | 196.7 |
| 3 | Canada | 3.69% | 177.94 |
| 4 | United Kingdom | 3.38% | 162.82 |
| 5 | Germany | 3.20% | 154.02 |
Source and period: Semrush’s September 2026 reddit.com overview, checked October 24, 2026. The U.S. visit count was displayed as 2.37 billion and converted to millions; conversion does not add precision.
Semrush defines visits as sessions: a set of actions on a website during a limited time. Its traffic data uses third-party clickstream data, cleaning and machine-learning models. These are modeled traffic estimates, not Reddit’s own country-level user counts. Semrush methodology.
The five displayed shares total 63.45%, leaving approximately 36.55% for countries outside this table. That residual is calculated from rounded shares; omitted countries do not have zero traffic. The table describes the reddit.com domain; don’t label it as total Reddit website-and-app usage.
What Reddit reports about active users
Reddit’s second-quarter 2026 results provide a different geographic breakdown: United States versus international, rather than individual countries outside the U.S.
| Geography | Average daily active uniques, millions | Average weekly active uniques, millions |
|---|---|---|
| United States | 53.2 | 197.2 |
| International | 77.1 | 317.4 |
| Global | 130.3 | 514.6 |

Reddit defines a daily active unique, or DAUq, as a user identified by a unique identifier who visits a Reddit webpage or opens a Reddit application at least once in a 24-hour period. The quarterly average is the average of daily counts. Weekly active uniques, or WAUq, use a trailing seven-day window; Reddit averages those counts across each day of the quarter. These metrics include logged-in and logged-out activity. Definitions and geographic figures.
Consequently, don’t multiply Semrush’s country traffic shares by Reddit’s global active-user total to estimate users per country. The sources measure different things, cover different periods and have different scopes. A visit share is not a unique-user share.
Prepare a spreadsheet readers can verify
For a country traffic dataset, use one row per country and period. Keep these fields:
| Field | What to store |
|---|---|
country |
Consistent country name |
period |
2026-09 for this snapshot |
metric |
website_visits |
visits_millions |
Numeric value without “M” or “B” |
share_pct |
Numeric percentage, such as 49.10 |
scope |
reddit.com; all devices |
source_url |
The source page address |
accessed_on |
Date you checked the source |
Store 49.10 as a numeric percentage with the header share_pct; if you use spreadsheet percentage formatting instead, store 0.491. Don’t mix the two conventions.
Keep Reddit’s official geographic metrics in a separate dataset. “International” is a regional aggregate, not a country, and the global row is a total—not another location to include in a sum.
Publish the comparison with its limits intact
Name the public page “Reddit.com website visits by country — September 2026,” not “Reddit users by country.” For a chart, compare countries with bars and label the axis “Share of website visits (%)”; don’t use a histogram for this country ranking.
TablePage accepts CSV, TSV, XLSX and XLS files and turns an uploaded dataset into a public, shareable page with a filterable table and charts. Upload only the aggregate publication file, not private audience records.
Keep the period, metric definition, source and access date with the published data. If you later update the figures, preserve earlier snapshots rather than silently replacing their dates. For linking the result from a report, use a descriptive table reference that makes the metric and period clear.
